New Residential Property
We were asked to provide engineering guidance and design for this large residential property close to York city centre. It was a new development and we were involved at an early stage, providing a contamination report for the existing site. Following this we carried out the structural design for the building. We modelled the whole building in our structural software, and from this we could determine the foundation loading and design steel beams, supports, and roof members. To allow the rear of the property to have large glazed areas we designed a steel frame structure that could support the loads above. As the garden sloped up away from the property, we designed retaining walls to create stepped changes in levels. We were also involved in designing a sustainable drainage scheme for the site.
